Good news for NCIS: New Orleans fans. Channel 5 has finally announced plans to air the back half of season three. The burn-off of the remaining episodes begins on Monday October 1st at 9pm, but instead of returning to the main channel the show is being moved to 5USA.
There had been some question if the episodes would ever see the light of day after Channel 5 lost first window rights to NCIS: New Orleans to FOX UK, who launched the fourth season back in July. I hear that due to the existing contract between CBS Studios International and Channel 5, the first three seasons were unavailable to FOX UK, prompting their decision to launch straight into season four.
NCIS: New Orleans is set in the NCIS New Orleans field office, which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. The drama is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise), CCH Pounder (Warehouse 13), Lucas Black (Fast & Furious), Vanessa Ferlito (CSI: NY), Rob Kerkovich (Chasing Life), Daryl Mitchell (Galaxy Quest) and Shalita Grant (Mercy Street).
The next new episode, titled Pandora’s Box Part II, NCIS agents McGee and Torres travel to New Orleans to partner with Pride and his team in the search for a missing homeland security theoretical terror playbook. It is the concluding part of a cross-over with parent series NCIS. The opening part of the cross-over, Pandora’s Box Part I, will air immediately before in the 8pm slot.
