Channel 5 Orders 'In Solitary' Celebrity Series – TVWise

Following on from the success of In Solitary, Channel 5 has given the green-light to a celebrity edition of the series which followed four members of the public as they attempted to live in solitary confinement.
Celebs In Solitary will largely retain the same format, with the members of the public being replaced by four famous faces. They will sacrifice their phones and contact with the outside world and only be allowed three ‘luxury’ items to help them pass the time and psychological tests of isolation.
The celebrities taking part in the series include Musician, songwriter and documentarian Stephen Manderson, TV presenter and personality Anthea Turner, the World’s Strongest Man 2017 Eddie Hall and comedian and writer Shazia Mirza. George Lamb returns as the presenter and will be joined by psychiatrist Dr Sandra Scott who will talk audiences through the experiences and coping mechanisms on display as each occupant struggles with the psychological demands of being totally alone.
Celebs In Solitary is being produced for Channel 5 by Stellify Media and was commissioned by Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor Sean Doyle. Filming is taking place in Belfast for a summer premiere.
