The Last Man On EarthDave is fast-tracking The Last Man On Earth.

The UKTV owned and operated channel has picked up the UK rights to the second season of the Will Forte comedy from international distributor Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. The show’s second season will premiere on Dave on Monday September 28th at 9pm, less the 24 hours behind the debut on Fox in the United States.

Created by Will Forte, The Last Man On Earth is a single-camera comedy that chronicles the life and adventures of an average guy – and humanity’s last hope – who discovers what life is like when no one is telling you what you can and cannot do. The comedy series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and stars Will Forte, Kristen Schaal, January Jones and Mel Rodriguez.

The Last Man On Earth only recently launched in the UK, following UKTV’s deal to acquire the series from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution in June. The first season is presently airing on Monday nights as part of a three-hour U.S. programming block, known as All American Mondays. Said block consists of new episodes of Parks & Recreation at 8pm, The Last Man On Earth at 9pm and Suits at 10pm.

Dave’s acquisition of the show’s second season, which emanates from the multi-year deal they inked to pick up the show earlier this Summer, comes shortly after Fox revealed at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that Jason Sudeikis has signed of for a guest starring role in the new season. Sudeikis also guest stars in the closing moments of the season one finale.
