Is Blackburn v West Ham on TV?

West Ham have a new manager. Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked on Tuesday and Scott Parker was appointed the following day, and his first game in charge could hardly have been more eventful, with the Hammers coming back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at Cardiff on Wednesday night.

They have now conceded three in each of their last three games, but they remain the division’s top scorers by some distance and are still unbeaten away from home this season, with wins at Lincoln and Swansea among them. West Ham sit eighth, in the last play-off place, and five points off the top.

Ezra Mayers, Mohamadou Kante and Joel Piroe are all in contention to start after their half-time introductions helped turn the game at Cardiff. Tomas Soucek could also return to the starting line-up, although Parker may decide against too many changes in his first full week in charge.

Blackburn have lost three of their last four league games. Defeats at West Brom and a 4-0 loss at Swansea were followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Stoke on Tuesday, which ended a run of three straight wins at Ewood Park.

Tony Mowbray’s side have still done better than many expected and sit 14th, five points off the play-offs. Ewood Park had been a strong base before Tuesday, including a 2-0 win over Wrexham last month.

Ryan Alebiosu is a doubt, so Gady Beyuku could start at right-back, and Moussa Baradji may come in for Kristi Montgomery after scoring off the bench against Stoke. Yuki Ohashi could also return, but otherwise Mowbray may keep the same side.

With Blackburn five points behind West Ham, a home win would bring them right back into the play-off picture, while Parker will want to follow Wednesday’s comeback with a first win.
