Is Watford v Middlesbrough on TV?

Middlesbrough are still top of the Championship, but their long unbeaten league run ended on Wednesday with a 2-0 defeat at Wrexham, one of their poorest performances of the season. Top scorer Will Lankshear missed the game with a minor muscle problem, and Boro struggled without him.

Kim Hellberg’s side had taken 13 points from their previous five games, including a 5-1 win at Bolton and a 2-2 draw with Cardiff, but only three points now separate first from sixth. Their away form has been less impressive, with just one away clean sheet all season.

If Lankshear is not fit, David Strelec is likely to come in for Kyle Joseph up front. Riley McGree and Myles Peart-Harris are pushing for a return in midfield, while Alfie Jones and Rokas Pukstas remain out injured.

Watford are 20th and Alessio Dionisi is under pressure, although results have picked up slightly. They have won two of their last four, beating Charlton and Lincoln at Vicarage Road without conceding, and their two defeats in that spell, at Wolves and Norwich, were both by a single goal.

Home is where nearly all of Watford’s points have come from, although goals have been hard to come by even at Vicarage Road.

Hector Kyprianou is suspended after picking up his fifth booking, so Martin Payero could come into midfield. Mamadou Doumbia is an option in place of Myron Boadu, but Dionisi is unlikely to make many changes, and Jeremy Ngakia, Edoardo Bove and Michail Antonio are all expected to miss out injured.

Wolves can go top with a win at Wrexham at lunchtime, so Boro may kick off knowing they need a result to stay in first place.
