What channel is Barcelona v Aston Villa on?

Barcelona had a difficult fortnight before getting back on track at the weekend. Their unbeaten start to the season ended with a 4-2 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain on matchday three, and Real Madrid then won the Clasico 2-1 at the Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick’s side responded by thrashing Alaves 6-1 on Saturday to stay two points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga. Goals have rarely been a problem, but the defending has, with Barcelona without a clean sheet in their last five games, though the Camp Nou has long been a tough place for English sides in Europe.

Dani Olmo is expected to miss the rest of the month after tearing an adductor muscle against PSG, and Xavi Espart, Andreas Christensen, Roony Bardghji, Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde are all still out. There were no new concerns from the Alaves win, in which Lamine Yamal scored twice and set up another as he closes in on the record for Champions League goals by a teenager.

Aston Villa have been one of the stories of the Champions League so far. Unai Emery’s side have won all three games, beating Club Brugge away, thrashing Fenerbahce 6-0 and then seeing off Viking FK 3-1, and only the holders PSG sit above them in the league phase table.

They also beat Manchester City 2-1 and won at Newcastle during a strong October, but Villa travel to Spain on a two-game winless run after a 3-0 cup defeat at Bournemouth and a 1-1 home draw with Fulham at the weekend.

Amadou Onana, Matteo Ruggeri and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the only absentees. Nicolas Jackson was fit enough to start and score against Fulham after missing training last week, and while Leon Goretzka made his first Premier League start at the weekend, Joao Gomes may be preferred in midfield here.

It is a return to the scene of La Remontada for Emery, whose Paris Saint-Germain side famously let slip a four-goal lead at this ground in 2017. Villa and Barcelona have not met in a competitive game since Villa won the European Super Cup between the clubs more than 40 years ago.
