Syfy UK has confirmed that it will not be airing the fourth and final season of 12 Monkeys, having carried the science-fiction drama for its first three seasons.
Developed by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, the series is based on Terry Gilliam’s 1995 film. Aaron Stanford stars as James Cole, a man sent back in time from a ravaged future to track down and stop the release of the deadly virus that wiped out most of humanity, with Amanda Schull as the virologist who helps him, Dr Cassandra Railly.
The show wrapped up its run in the United States earlier this year, but with Syfy passing on the closing run, UK viewers are for now left without a broadcaster for the final season.
