What channel is Wales v Japan on?
Wales v Japan is live on ITV1, with free streaming on ITVX, and Welsh-language commentary is available on S4C, BBC iPlayer and S4C Clic. The game starts at 16.40 GMT at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 7 November 2026, in round four of the Nations Championship.
This is the first of three home games in a row for Wales at the Principality Stadium, with New Zealand next Saturday and Australia the week after. ITV holds the UK rights to every game in the new Nations Championship, which brings together six northern and six southern hemisphere sides before a finals weekend at the end of the month.
Steve Tandy has made headlines with his selection. Wales have named a record nine starters who play their club rugby outside the country, all of them in England, along with three more on the bench, and Tandy has defended the decision ahead of the game.
Wales won one of their three games in July, opening with a 39-24 victory over Fiji at the Cardiff City Stadium before defeats in Argentina, 35-21 in San Juan, and against South Africa, who won 43-0 in Durban. Tandy will want a strong start to the November window before the visits of New Zealand and Australia.
Japan beat Italy 27-10 in Tokyo in their opening Nations Championship game in July, but then lost to Ireland and France. Eddie Jones has handed a debut to scrum-half Riku Kitahara, who will partner co-captain Naoto Saito at half-back.
Recent meetings between the sides have been closely contested, and with both nations chasing a strong finish to the group stage, this has the makings of a competitive afternoon in Cardiff.
