Sky Vision – the production and distribution division of the satcaster – has picked acquired international distribution rights to the second season of A User’s Guide To Cheating Death. The series is produced by indie Peacock Alley.
Hosted by Timothy Caulfield, A User’s Guide To Cheating Death sees the science geek and social provocateur debunking myths around healthcare fads and examining the scientific facts behind some of the latest health trends. The topics for season two include sleep, vitamins and supplements, germs, body hacking, sex and relationships and spiritual science.
The show’s first season was an international success and was sold to broadcasters to some 67 territories, including: SBS Australia, TV New Zealand, Societe Radio-Canada, Telefonica in Spain, DR in Denmark, BBC Worldwide, UR Sweden, TVB in Hong Kong, S+ in Portugal, Ananey in Israel and AMC in Central Europe.
“I am thrilled that Series One had such a broad reach. Filming the show has been a true adventure. So many different perspectives on health and wellness – some bizarre, some a bit scary, but all interesting and eye opening”, Timothy Caulfield said in a statement. “I think we kicked it up a notch with Series Two. These are important topics that have relevance to everyone. The production team is amazing and we kind of hit a Cheating Death groove!”
While Barnaby Shingleton, Director of Entertainment and Factual for Sky Vision, added: “A User’s Guide to Cheating Death was a huge success internationally and it appeals to audiences everywhere. Tim Caulfield is an entertaining and informative guide, and we could not be happier to have acquired the rights to Series Two.”
