The fourth season of Cuckoo will premiere on BBC Three on Thursday August 2nd from 10am, when all six episodes will be available.
Cuckoo originally followed a middle-class family whose daughter returns home from a summer abroad married to a charming but infuriating eccentric named Cuckoo, played by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg, much to her father’s annoyance. After Brooklyn Nine-Nine scored a series order at Fox, Samberg exited the series to be replaced by Taylor Lautner as the series lead playing Cuckoo’s son.
The comedy series, which has already been renewed for season five, is produced for BBC Three by Roughcut TV and stars Taylor Lautner (Twilight) as Dale, Greg Davies (Man Down) as Ken, Helen Baxendale (Cold Feet) as Lorna, Tyger Drew Honey (Outnumbered) as Dylan and Esther Smith (Ballot Monkeys) as Rachel. In the opening episode of the season, Ken has been nominated for Lichfield Lawyer of the Year. Unfortunately, his dastardly work rival Jane has been nominated too. Ken’s convinced Jane is going to win, until Lorna thinks of a way to fix it. Meanwhile, Dale is still enjoying his adopted home town of Lichfield and relationship bliss with Rachel – and he is thinking of taking the next step.
