BBC Two has set a premiere date for its crime drama The Fall, with the five-part series starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan beginning on Monday May 13th at 9pm.
Anderson plays DSI Stella Gibson, a senior Metropolitan Police detective brought over from London to review a stalled murder investigation in Belfast. Dornan plays Paul Spector, the killer she is hunting, with the drama unfolding as a dual portrait of both the detective and the man she is chasing.
Created and written by Allan Cubitt and directed by Jakob Verbruggen, the series is set and filmed in Northern Ireland and produced by Artists Studio. As Gibson closes in, the story draws in the lives of those caught up in the murders, on both the killer’s side and the victims’.
The Fall also features Archie Panjabi, John Lynch and Bronagh Waugh. It will air in the Republic of Ireland on RTE One.
