Tottenham are still looking for a first goal of the season, never mind a first win. A 3-0 defeat at Brentford was followed by a 2-0 home loss to Newcastle, before a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest brought a first point.

There were signs of improvement in that one, with Spurs seeing plenty of the ball and working a decent number of openings. Not one of them was on target.

James Garner is not yet back to full fitness and Christian Norgaard is out until October. Jack Grealish is available again after a bright showing against United.

There is an oddity in the head to head. Spurs have won very little at home of late, and the one victory that stands out came against Everton on the final day of last season.
