Man Utd v Man City Live Stream Details

Both clubs arrive off European wins in midweek, City having seen off Porto 2-0 and United beating Champions League debutants Sabah 4-0 on Thursday.

The domestic picture is less comfortable for the hosts. Four points from three league games included a 2-0 defeat at Hull City and a 2-2 draw at Everton, with a 5-2 win over Ipswich Town sandwiched between them.

Conceding twice in each of their opening three league games is not something United have done often, and it has not always been the disaster it looks.

Thursday brought a first clean sheet of the campaign and a third straight game with multiple goals. Michael Carrick’s home record since returning has been excellent, though winning both of his opening two league derbies would be new ground.

Luke Shaw missed the Sabah game with cramp rather than anything serious and should be available, closing in on a Premier League milestone. Carlos Baleba, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, Tom Heaton and Amad Diallo are all out.

City sit top after three straight wins, beating Bournemouth 2-1, Crystal Palace 4-1 and Coventry City 1-0, the last of those settled by an Erling Haaland header.

A fourth win would continue a habit City have made their own of starting seasons perfectly.

Haaland scored twice against Porto and his Champions League record remains extraordinary. He has a strong scoring record against United too, though less of one at Old Trafford itself.

Jeremy Doku is still struggling with a calf problem and looks set to miss out. Nico O’Reilly is back to full fitness after the back injury that ruled him out against Coventry.

Enzo Maresca has the chance to win his first league Manchester derby, something several of his predecessors managed. Recent history is against him, with City having struggled in this fixture lately and losing 2-0 at Old Trafford in January.
