Netflix has picked up the exclusive UK streaming rights to the third season of Reign, the CW’s historical drama. Subscribers will be able to follow the next chapter of Mary, Queen of Scots’ story without waiting for a linear UK broadcast.
Created by Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie SenGupta, Reign stars Adelaide Kane as Mary Stuart, charting her years at the French court amid a constant swirl of romance, rivalry and political scheming. The new season carries Mary’s story forward as she fights to hold on to power and protect her throne, with old alliances tested and new threats emerging.
Megan Follows continues as the formidable Catherine de’ Medici, a constant presence in Mary’s world. With the deal, Netflix adds the latest run of the series to its growing slate of period drama for UK viewers.
