UKTV’s Dave Channel Moves Forward With Sports Push, Acquires Ultimate Strongman: World Championship

UKTV is pushing further into sport, with its channel Dave securing the exclusive rights to the Ultimate Strongman: World Championship.

Held at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, the championship brings together twelve of the world’s strongest competitors across five events, among them the Atlas Stones, the Monster Tyre Flip and the Deadlift Challenge. The two-hour programme is recorded in front of a live audience and set to air on Dave at the end of December.

Presenting duties go to Matt Bell and Jamie Reeves, crowned World’s Strongest Man in 1989, with commentary from Sky Sports’ Nick Halling and former strongman Svend Karlsen. A companion show, Ultimate Strongman: Next Generation, featuring under-25 competitors and filmed in Canada, will also air on the channel.

The acquisition continues a busy year of sport for Dave, which has also screened Caribbean Premier League cricket and the British Darts Organisation’s World Trophy.
