How to watch Norway v France
Norway v France will be shown live in the UK on ITV1, with kick off at 8:00pm BST. The match takes place at Gillette Stadium (Boston Stadium) in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Norway go into this final group game having delivered one of the stories of the tournament so far, winning both of their Group I matches to sit second behind France on goal difference alone, despite having the same six points as Les Bleus.
Erling Haaland has been sensational, netting four goals across the two games, including a brace in the opener against Iraq and two more in a thrilling 3-2 win over Senegal.
The Manchester City striker is the joint second-highest scorer in the tournament so far and arrives at the Gillette Stadium with a very real chance of winning Group I outright if Norway can better France tonight.
There is concern over right back Julian Ryerson, who hobbled off after just 13 minutes against Senegal and is highly unlikely to feature here, with Marcus Pedersen expected to fill in again.
Stale Solbakken has a strong squad available, with Martin Odegaard, Sander Berge and Alexander Sorloth all expected to keep their places.
Norway’s most recent win over France came in August 2010 and they have beaten Les Bleus only three times in their history, so a group-topping win tonight would be a remarkable achievement.
France arrive already through as group winners and with a heavy personal cloud over proceedings, with manager Didier Deschamps having temporarily returned home to France following the death of his mother. His assistant will take charge of the tactical preparation for this one.
Deschamps is expected to rotate significantly, with players who have featured less so far getting their chance to impress. Desire Doue is likely to start alongside Kylian Mbappe in attack after coming off the bench in both group games, while Manu Kone and Lucas Digne, who both performed well when introduced against Iraq, are pushing to keep their places.
Mbappe has four goals in two games at this tournament and is closing in on Lionel Messi’s all-time World Cup scoring record. After netting again in the 3-0 win over Iraq, he now sits just two behind Messi on 16 World Cup goals.
The last time these sides met was a 4-0 France win in May 2014, so Norway will know they have plenty to prove against one of the tournament’s most powerful attacking sides.
With both teams already through, this has the feel of a dress rehearsal for the knockout rounds, but with top spot in Group I still to play for, neither side will want to lose in Foxborough tonight.
