Belgium v Iran on TV: Live Streaming Details

All four teams in Group G are level on one point heading into the second round of fixtures, making this a match that neither side can afford to lose if they want to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.

Belgium were frustrated in their opener against Egypt, falling behind to a stunning long-range strike from Emam Ashour before Romelu Lukaku came off the bench and effectively forced an own goal from Mohamed Hany to level things up.

Rudi Garcia may shuffle his pack after that below-par performance, though Lukaku’s fitness remains a question after a limited season at Napoli. Charles De Ketelaere could continue as a false nine, with Jeremy Doku and Leandro Trossard expected to provide the width alongside Kevin De Bruyne pulling the strings in midfield.

Zeno Debast remains sidelined with a thigh injury, so the central defensive partnership of Wout Faes and Brandon Mechele is expected to continue, with questions remaining over both full-back spots with Maxim De Cuyper and Joaquin Seys both pushing for places.

Iran showed real spirit in their opener against New Zealand, fighting back twice to earn a 2-2 draw through goals from Ramin Rezaeian and Mohammad Mohebi. The 36-year-old Rezaeian made history in that game, becoming the oldest player on record to both score and assist in the same World Cup match.

Amir Ghalenoei’s side have had to navigate unique logistical challenges throughout this tournament, with the squad not permitted to stay overnight on US soil under an agreement brokered with FIFA. They have been based across the border in Tijuana and travelling in for matches.

There are minor fitness doubts over midfielders Roozbeh Cheshmi and Saman Ghoddos, the latter of whom was forced off with an ankle problem against New Zealand. Captain Mehdi Taremi leads the attack with 60 international goals to his name and will be Iran’s biggest threat.

The two sides have never met at senior level before, making this a first-ever encounter. Iran have won only three of their 19 World Cup matches to date, losing seven of ten against European opposition, but with Group G so tight, one result here could change everything.
