Sony Entertainment Television has lined up the UK premiere of Younger, with the American comedy due to arrive on the channel this autumn.
Created by Darren Star, the writer behind Sex and the City, the series stars Sutton Foster as Liza Miller, a recently divorced 40-year-old trying to restart her career in book publishing. Finding that no one wants to hire her at her age, and after a younger man mistakes her for someone in her twenties, Liza reinvents herself as a 26-year-old to land an entry-level job, then has to keep the deception going.
Hilary Duff co-stars as Kelsey, a young editor who becomes Liza’s friend and colleague, with Debi Mazar as Liza’s best friend Maggie, the one person in on the secret, and Miriam Shor as her formidable boss Diana. Set in New York and based on Pamela Redmond Satran’s novel, the show mixes workplace comedy with the constant risk of Liza’s double life unravelling.
