BBC One has released the first image of Marc Warren in character as the villainous Comte de Rochefort, the new threat joining The Musketeers for its second series.
Created by Adrian Hodges and drawing on Alexandre Dumas’s swashbuckling tales, the drama follows the adventures of Athos (Tom Burke), Porthos (Howard Charles), Aramis (Santiago Cabrera) and the young hothead d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) in seventeenth-century Paris.
Warren’s Rochefort arrives at the French court as a dangerous new schemer, filling the void left by Cardinal Richelieu and setting himself against the king’s guards. The second series will see him weave his way into palace politics as a fresh adversary for the four heroes.
