BBC One Sets UK Premiere Date For London Kills
BBC One has set a UK premiere date for London Kills, with the crime drama to begin on Monday June 24th, airing daily at 1:45pm as part of the channel’s daytime schedule.
The five-part series was one of Acorn TV’s first original commissions and premiered in the United States in February. It had originally been lined up for Channel 5 in the UK before the broadcaster pulled out of the deal, with the BBC stepping in to acquire it.
Created by Paul Marquess, who was behind the earlier London-set procedural Suspects, the series follows an elite murder investigation team headed by DI David Bradford, played by Hugo Speer, a respected detective whose judgement comes under scrutiny after the unexplained disappearance of his wife.
Sharon Small, Bailey Patrick and Tori Allen-Martin co-star as members of the squad. In keeping with Marquess’s approach on Suspects, the series has a documentary style and a partly improvised script, with the cast working from scene outlines rather than full scripts.
