BBC Two’s Richard Gere (Chicago, Pretty Woman) and Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders, Harry Potter) fronted drama series MotherFatherSon will premiere on Wednesday March 6th at 9pm, it has been announced.
MotherFatherSon is described as a political and psychological thriller that sits at the intersections of police, politics and the press. The series is as much a family saga as it is a savage, unflinching study of power and how even the mightiest of empires can be in peril when a family turns on each other.
The eight episode drama series, which was created by Tom Rob Smith, is produced by BBC Studios Drama London and stars Richard Gere, Helen McCrory, Billy Howle, Sarah Lancashire, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Danny Sapani, Sinéad Cusack, Paul Ready and Joseph Mawle. Lisa Osborne is the series producer. The Thirteenth Tale helmer James Kent is the lead director. Series creator Tom Rob Smith also serves as an executive producer alongside The Newsroom‘s Alan Poul, Hilary Salmon and Elizabeth Kilgarriff. BBC Studios will distribute the series internationally.
