Spain play at home for the first time since winning the World Cup, with Croatia visiting the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Tuesday night and kick off at 19.45 BST.

This is Spain’s first home game as world champions and Seville should make an occasion of it. They come into it having beaten England 3-2 at Wembley on Saturday.

Lamine Yamal scored his eighth international goal inside two minutes before Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane turned the game England’s way. Kane then hit the crossbar with a penalty just after the hour, and Luis de la Fuente sent on Alex Baena and Mikel Oyarzabal, who both scored.

Spain have not lost inside 90 minutes since March 2024.

That was a friendly against Colombia, and their last competitive defeat came against Scotland in March 2023. The run is long enough now that it has stopped being remarked upon.
