Celtic v Rangers live stream details

Six league games, six wins, five points clear at the top. Read only the table and Celtic’s season looks immaculate.

Everything else tells a different story. They led LASK Linz 4-0 on aggregate and still went out of the Champions League qualifiers 5-4, losing the second leg 5-1, and the last fortnight has brought two more defeats.

Rangers won the first of them 3-0.

That was the League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox, and Ferencvaros followed it by winning 3-1 at Celtic Park in the Europa League on Thursday. Defensive mistakes were punished in both.

Rangers have come a long way in a short time. Derek McInnes inherited a side that failed to win any of its opening four games, European elimination included, and has since won seven of eight.

The one blemish was a 1-0 defeat to Jablonec and a shootout exit from the Conference League playoff. Five straight wins have followed.

Celtic Park has not been kind to them, with two wins from their last 12 visits, and they will be doing without any travelling support. Away fans are banned from Old Firm fixtures for the whole season.

Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand and Jota are all injured for Celtic, while Yang Hyun-Jun is at the Asian Games with South Korea. Martin O’Neill is expected to change the side that lost on Thursday, with Benjamin Nygren and Kasper Hogh likely in attack and Tony Ralston and Auston Trusty in defence.

Lawrence Shankland is still out with a hamstring problem and Youssef Chermiti has a cruciate injury, so Kevin Kelsy should keep his place after scoring last weekend. Tuur Rommens and Jose Cifuentes could both return to the squad.
