Where to watch Bournemouth v Liverpool

Andoni Iraola spent two years making Bournemouth one of the more awkward sides in the division to play against. He goes back on Sunday with Liverpool, who sit eighth having drawn three of their four league games.

Three wins from his first six in charge is a fair start, and Tuesday brought a 3-1 win over Tottenham in the cup. Two clean sheets in the last four suggest the defending has settled down.

The midfield has not.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch have both struggled out of possession, which is precisely the part of the game Iraola built his reputation on. Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Federico Chiesa are the only absentees, with no fresh concerns reported.

Bournemouth are 15th and still waiting on a first league win, though the four games tell a kinder story than the table does. Manchester City beat them on the opening weekend, and Everton, Newcastle and Brentford have all been held since.

Thursday was the landmark. Their first competitive European match ended in a 2-1 win at Real Sociedad, which is not a bad way to start.

The Vitality has become a fortress of sorts, with Bournemouth unbeaten there this season and across their last 12 matches at the ground, four of which they won. Tyler Adams came off after the hour in Spain, so Ryan Christie is a candidate to come in.

Liverpool have won six of the last seven meetings between the clubs, and their most recent outing was a goalless draw with Fulham. The exception in that run came in January, when Bournemouth won 3-2 at the Vitality and Iraola took three points off Arne Slot.
