Channel 4 Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Catch-22’

Channel 4 has set a UK premiere date for Catch-22, with the miniseries to debut on Thursday June 20th at 9pm, then continuing weekly.

The six part limited series is an adaptation of Joseph Heller’s celebrated 1961 novel, and is directed by George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Ellen Kuras, who took two episodes each. Clooney also executive produces and appears as Scheisskopf.

It stars Christopher Abbott as Captain John Yossarian, a US air force bombardier in the Second World War who cannot understand why so many people he has never met are trying to kill him, alongside Kyle Chandler and Hugh Laurie.

Yossarian’s efforts to be taken off combat duty are blocked at every turn by Catch 22, the bureaucratic rule that deems anyone sane enough to want out of the missions fit to keep flying them.

The series premiered in the United States on Hulu on May 17th.
