Nottingham Forest are still searching for their first win under Ange Postecoglou, and as I look ahead to Saturday’s game against Chelsea, it feels like this could be a defining moment for the Aussie manager. Seven games without a victory across all competitions have left him under serious pressure, and many believe the club should have made a change during the international break.

There’s already talk among fans about possible successors, with Sean Dyche’s name being mentioned as a potential replacement if results don’t improve soon.

Unfortunately, Forest’s recent record doesn’t make for pleasant reading. The Tricky Trees have won just one of their last eight home games in all competitions. Postecoglou has also lost all four of his managerial meetings against the Blues, which only adds to the pressure he’s under.

From a Chelsea point of view, they come into this one on a high after beating reigning champions Liverpool 2-1 just before the international break. A late goal from Estêvão sealed that win, keeping them within touching distance of the top five, though they still sit five points behind leaders Arsenal.

Enzo Maresca has his own challenges to deal with, particularly at the back where injuries have disrupted his defensive options. The Blues have managed just three wins from their last fourteen Premier League away games, so this trip to Nottingham is far from straightforward.

Even so, Chelsea have had the upper hand in recent meetings, unbeaten in the last three against Forest with two wins and a draw. Each of the last six clashes between these sides has been decided by just one goal, so this could be tighter than many expect.

For Postecoglou, though, it’s simple, he needs a result. The fans want to see signs of progress, and another defeat at home could make his position very difficult to defend. With Chelsea’s attacking quality and Forest’s poor form, it’s going to take something special to stop the slide.

I’ll be watching closely on Saturday lunchtime, hoping the City Ground crowd can lift the players and finally help Forest get that first win under Postecoglou. It’s a massive test, but it might just be the moment this team needs to start turning their season around.
