Littler produced another breathtaking performance in the semi-finals, landing a sensational nine-darter during his 17-14 comeback victory over Josh Rock.

The teenage sensation and Rock made history by combining for a record 29 180s in a single Matchplay contest, but it was Littler who stole the show, finishing with a stunning 141 on double 15 to complete the perfect leg.

Earlier, Wade booked his place in the final after edging a marathon 20-18 win over Jonny Clayton in another Blackpool thriller.

The 2007 World Matchplay champion had looked comfortable at 16-10, but was forced to dig deep to hold off a late rally from the Welshman.

Despite Wade’s resilience and tournament pedigree, Littler is widely expected to come out on top.

The 17-year-old has already lifted the World Championship and Premier League titles this year and is 1/6 to continue his dominance.

Wade, priced at 4/1, will need to summon all his experience to pull off the upset tonight.
