Amazon Prime Instant Video has picked up the exclusive UK rights to the third season of Vikings. Subscribers will be able to stream the new episodes from February 20th, a day after the season premieres on History in the United States.
Created by Michael Hirst, the series stars Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok, now established as King of Kattegat. The new season sees the Vikings return to England, where Ragnar strikes an uneasy bargain with King Ecbert of Wessex, before setting his sights on a far greater prize: the raid on Paris.
Travis Fimmel leads a cast that includes Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha, Clive Standen as Rollo, Gustaf Skarsgård as Floki and George Blagden as the monk Athelstan. With the UK rights, Amazon makes the whole season available to stream close to its US broadcast.
