France v Spain Live Stream Details

The World Cup semi final that everyone wanted takes place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas tonight, with France aiming to reach their third consecutive World Cup final and Spain trying to lift the trophy for the second time in their history.

France have been the most complete team in the tournament, winning all six of their matches and scoring 16 goals in the process.

A 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarter-finals was secured by a Kylian Mbappe opener and a Ousmane Dembele finish, with Mbappe now on eight goals at this tournament and closing in on the all-time record of 13 set by Just Fontaine at a single World Cup in 1958.

Mbappe picked up a minor ankle sprain late against Morocco but has trained normally and is expected to start.

Manu Kone was also withdrawn as a precaution and is pushing to return, competing with Aurelien Tchouameni for a starting berth alongside Adrien Rabiot. The front four of Mbappe, Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola has created 19 chances between them this summer alone.

Didier Deschamps manages his 26th World Cup match tonight, surpassing Helmut Schon’s longstanding record. He will step down after this tournament regardless of the outcome, giving his players enormous motivation to send their manager out with the ultimate prize.

France have won all four of their previous World Cup semi-finals and have not conceded in any of the last three, a defensive record that reflects the quality running through the spine of this squad.

Spain have relied on late drama to reach the last four, with substitute Mikel Merino scoring decisive goals in both the last 16 and the quarter-final against Belgium. Merino has now become the first player in World Cup history to score the winner in two knockout ties as a substitute, and he is pushing strongly to start tonight.

Spain’s defence finally conceded against Belgium after six consecutive World Cup clean sheets, but their overall structure under Luis de la Fuente remains extremely hard to break down.

Since the start of the 2024 European Championship, they have lost just one of 27 major tournament matches.

Lamine Yamal continues on the right flank and is gradually returning to his best form after a hamstring issue that hampered him in the early stages of the tournament.

Mikel Oyarzabal leads the attack with four goals at this World Cup, while the battle in midfield between Rodri, Pedri and Fabian Ruiz against France’s physicality could prove decisive.

England or Argentina await the winner in Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
