USA v Paraguay on TV: Live Streaming Details

Co-hosts USA open their 2026 World Cup campaign in front of a packed SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday night local time, taking on Paraguay in their Group D opener.

It is a late one for UK viewers, kicking off at 2am BST on Saturday morning.

The USMNT go into the tournament on the back of a mixed run of results. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have lost three of their last four games, though those defeats came against sides ranked above them.

They have never lost an opening group stage game at a World Cup, and a partisan home crowd in Los Angeles will give them every opportunity to keep that record intact.

Goals tend to follow the USA around.

Six of their last seven matches have produced at least three goals, which will encourage Pochettino to set up with an attacking mindset from the start.

Paraguay are back at the World Cup for the first time in 16 years after an impressive CONMEBOL qualifying campaign under Gustavo Alfaro.

They arrive ranked 41st in the world and have won just one of their last eight opening games at previous World Cups, which is not an encouraging record heading into this tie.

The Sputh American’s best result against the USA came at the 1930 World Cup, losing 3-0 in what remains the Americans’ joint-best margin of victory at the tournament.

USA have won all three of their most recent meetings with Paraguay, and with the home crowd behind them and a squad full of Premier League and top European talent, they go into Saturday as clear favourites to take all three points.
