Brazil v Morocco on TV: Live Streaming Details

Brazil and Morocco face each other in what is arguably the standout Group C fixture on Saturday night at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. It is a meeting between the fifth and seventh-ranked nations in the world, and the winner will go a long way towards securing top spot in what is expected to be the toughest group at the tournament.

Brazil arrive under Carlo Ancelotti, who made history last year when he became the first foreign coach to take charge of the Selecao. The Italian brings a calm authority and a proven record of winning at the highest level, and he has had a settled and positive build-up to the tournament, winning his last three games against Croatia, Panama and Egypt by a combined score of 11-4.

The biggest concern for Brazil is the fitness of Neymar. Their all-time top scorer has been nursing a grade two calf injury and is not expected to be fit for Saturday, while right-back Wesley has been ruled out of the tournament entirely with a muscle problem. Ancelotti is expected to field Alisson, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bruno Guimaraes, Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, with the striker role between Matheus Cunha and Endrick still undecided.

Morocco’s journey to this game has not been straightforward. Four years after becoming the first African nation to reach a World Cup semi-final, they parted ways with coach Walid Regragui less than 100 days before the tournament began. Former Under-23s coach Mohamed Ouahbi has since taken charge and steered the side to three wins and two draws from five games, most recently drawing 1-1 with Norway.

The Atlas Lions are also without key players. Centre-back Nayef Aguerd has been ruled out with a groin injury, winger Abde Ezzalzouli is out with a knee problem, and Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt after picking up a shoulder injury against Norway. Despite those setbacks, Morocco have Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz in their ranks, with Diaz having scored 14 goals in just 26 international appearances.

Brazil have won seven of their eight World Cup matches against African nations, with only a 1-0 group-stage defeat to Cameroon at Qatar 2022 spoiling that record. Morocco’s most recent win against Brazil came in a 2023 friendly, 2-1, but this is a very different stage and Ancelotti’s side will be highly motivated to make a strong start.

Earlier on Saturday, Qatar face Switzerland in Group B at Levi’s Stadium from 20:00 BST. On Sunday morning, Scotland open their campaign against Haiti from 02:00 BST. See all the fixtures and how to watch them on our World Cup TV guide.
