Leicester’s first season in the third tier has started poorly. A point at Notts County was followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Burton Albion, a game in which Oliver Skipp was sent off and the King Power crowd turned.

Tuesday offered no relief either, with a 3-1 EFL Cup exit at Ipswich Town settled by two long-range strikes from Marcelino Nunez.

Skipp is still serving his suspension. Wes Burns and teenager Olabade Aluko have both found the net in the past week.

MK Dons are back in League One after promotion and have taken a point from each of their opening two games, drawing 2-2 at Oxford United before a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at home.

Aaron Collins scored the leveller against Huddersfield. Paul Warne is likely to be without Sam Silvera and Alex Gilbey, who are both rated as doubtful.

The two clubs last met at Stadium MK in the EFL Cup, and this is their first league meeting in more than a decade.
