Newcastle have made a better start than most expected under Matthias Jaissle, unbeaten across their opening three games.

A 2-2 draw with Liverpool was followed by an EFL Cup win over West Brom, then a first league victory of the Jaissle era with a 2-0 win at Tottenham, Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa scoring after the break.

Newcastle v Bournemouth Live Stream details

Dan Burn, William Osula, Joelinton and Tino Livramento are all still out. Matias Fernandez-Pardo is expected to be eased in from the bench after his £51m move.

Bournemouth are one of eight clubs still waiting for a first win of the season, and late goals keep costing them.

They led at Manchester City before losing 2-1 in the closing minutes, then drew 1-1 with Everton at the Vitality after James Tarkowski equalised in the 91st minute.

Set pieces remain the weak spot for Marco Rose’s side, who have conceded from a corner in both league games so far.

Eli Junior Kroupi, Amine Adli, Veljko Milosavljevic and Julian Araujo are all sidelined. Evanilson is looking to end a 12-game Premier League goal drought.

The head to head favours the visitors. Newcastle have not beaten Bournemouth in the league since July 2020, a run of eight matches, and the Cherries won here 2-1 in April through an 85th-minute Adrien Truffert strike.
