Chelsea v Luton Town on TV: Live Streaming Details

Jack Wilshere brings his Luton side to Stamford Bridge for the second of Thursday’s two second round ties.

Xabi Alonso could hardly have asked for a better start at Chelsea, his side winning 3-2 at Fulham on Monday for their first opening day victory since 2022-23.

Cole Palmer scored and set one up, with Joao Pedro and club record signing Morgan Rogers also on target.

The Blues have won this competition five times but not since 2015, losing to Arsenal over two legs in last season’s semi-finals.

Jordan Henderson is out with a wrist problem and Emmanuel Emegha with a hamstring injury. Moises Caicedo, Marco Palestra and Aaron Anselmino all face assessments after sitting out at Craven Cottage.

Alonso is expected to make sweeping changes, with Danny Welbeck, Valentin Barco, Pep Chavarria and goalkeeper Mike Penders all in line for full debuts. Enzo Fernandez remains the subject of transfer speculation involving Manchester City.

Luton arrive unbeaten, having come from behind to win 4-3 at Reading before drawing 2-2 at home with Notts County. Callum Marshall got his first goal for the club to rescue that point.

A 3-0 win at Gillingham earlier this month took them past the first round, and the Hatters have now come through three of their last four second round ties.

Jordan Clark is out for a number of weeks after breaking his jaw against Notts County and undergoing surgery. Shaydon Morris has a bad hamstring injury and Shandon Baptiste a knee problem.

The clubs last met in December 2023, Chelsea holding on for a 3-2 Premier League win at Kenilworth Road. Luton have lost their last five meetings and have not won at Stamford Bridge in six competitive visits.
