Netherlands v Japan on TV: Live Streaming Details
Netherlands v Japan will be shown live and free in the UK on ITV1 and STV, with streaming available on ITVX and STV Player. The match takes place at AT&T Stadium, Dallas, Texas. Coverage begins at 01:00 BST with kick off at 02:00 BST on Monday 15th June 2026.
Netherlands and Japan meet in what could be one of the most competitive Group F fixtures at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Sunday night local time.
It is an early start for UK viewers, kicking off at 2am BST on Monday morning, but it promises to be well worth staying up for.
The Netherlands are heading into their 12th World Cup and remain one of the most decorated nations never to have won the tournament, having been runners-up in 1974, 1978 and 2010.
Ronald Koeman’s side reached the semi finals of Euro 2024 and are a strong outfit on paper, though their warm up form has been slightly unconvincing.
Their most recent friendly, a behind-closed doors game against Uzbekistan in New York, required two late Cody Gakpo penalties to see them through.
Koeman will want a sharper performance on Sunday, and he has plenty of talent at his disposal with Virgil van Dijk, Frenkie de Jong, Tijjani Reijnders and Gakpo all expected to start.
Netherlands also have injury concerns to contend with. First-choice goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen picked up a hip injury in their final warm up and may miss the game, with Mark Flekken set to step in if needed.
Jurrien Timber, Matthijs de Ligt and Xavi Simons are all also absent through injury, which has disrupted Koeman’s preparations.
Japan arrive in excellent form, having won six consecutive friendlies including victories over Brazil and England.
Hajime Moriyasu’s side are ranked 18th in the world and scored 54 goals in AFC qualifying, more than any other nation. They are a slick, well-organised team and will not be intimidated by the occasion in Dallas.
The big absentees for Japan are captain Wataru Endo, who has retired from international football after failing to recover from a foot injury, and winger Kaoru Mitoma, who also missed out through injury. Take Kubo and Junya Ito are expected to support lone striker Ayase Ueda, with the trio combining for 33 goal involvements in qualifying.
Japan beat both Germany and Spain in the group stage at Qatar 2022 and went out on penalties to Croatia, so this is a side more than capable of causing major upsets. Netherlands have not lost a World Cup group game since 1994, but Japan may represent their most serious test of that record here.
