Comedy Central UK has acquired the exclusive first-run UK rights to Teachers, TV Land’s single-camera comedy, and will premiere the ten-episode first season on Monday November 7th at 11pm with a double bill.
The show follows six elementary school teachers who are supposedly shaping the minds of America’s youth, despite having very little control over their own messy lives. Whether they are refusing to read fairytales on the grounds that “sometimes Prince Charming wants to date other people” or making a play for the resident hot dad, they are changing the world one dubious lesson at a time.
Based on a popular web series and executive produced by Alison Brie, Teachers is written by and stars the improv troupe The Katydids: Caitlin Barlow, Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O’Brien and Katie Thomas, all six of whom, as it happens, share a variation of the same first name.
