Drama has set a UK premiere date for the Sister Boniface Mysteries, with the cosy crime series arriving on Friday March 11th at 9pm. It will also be available on UKTV Play.
A spin-off of Father Brown, the show brings back a character first seen in a 2013 episode of that series. Lorna Watson reprises the role of Sister Boniface, a nun at a convent in the sleepy 1960s Cotswolds town of Great Slaughter. As well as her religious duties and her wine-making, she holds a doctorate in forensic science, which makes her an unlikely but invaluable adviser to the local police whenever a body turns up.
Created by Jude Tindall and produced by BBC Studios, the ten-part first series sees Boniface working alongside Detective Inspector Sam Gillespie, played by Max Brown, and Detective Sergeant Felix Livingstone, played by Jerry Iwu. Mark Williams, who plays Father Brown, is set to make a special guest appearance.
