BBC Three has set a premiere date for the second series of Bad Education, with the comedy returning on Tuesday September 3rd. All episodes will be available a week earlier on BBC iPlayer, from August 27th, as part of the channel’s plan to launch its scripted comedies online first.
Written by and starring Jack Whitehall, the series follows Alfie Wickers, billed as the worst teacher in Britain, as he muddles through life at the fictional Abbey Grove School. Hopeless at discipline but desperate to be liked, Alfie spends as much energy trying to win over his class of misfits, and his colleague and crush Rosie Gulliver, as he does actually teaching.
Mathew Horne returns as the eccentric headmaster Fraser, with Sarah Solemani as Rosie and Michelle Gomez as the fearsome deputy head Isobel Pickwell. Produced by Tiger Aspect, Bad Education was one of BBC Three’s biggest comedy hits in its first run.
