Each character lives in a different country, and the show will be filmed on location in cities including London, Mumbai, and Nairobi. The creators promise a global narrative that weaves together science fiction, action, and emotional depth.
Sense8 aims to explore themes of identity, connection, and survival, blending the Wachowskis’ visual storytelling with Straczynski’s experience in serialized drama. With Netflix backing the project, the creators will have the creative freedom to build a complex, long-arc story.
The show is expected to debut in 2014 and will consist of ten episodes.
