Syfy UK has set a premiere date for Continuum, with the Canadian science fiction series due to make its UK debut on Thursday September 27th.
Created by Simon Barry, the series stars Rachel Nichols as Kiera Cameron, a police officer from the year 2077 who finds herself stranded in the present day. When a group of fanatical terrorists, Liber8, escape execution by fleeing back in time to 2012, Kiera is swept along with them. Cut off from her own era, she works her way into the Vancouver police to hunt the group, helped by teenage tech genius Alec Sadler, all while trying to find a way home to her family.
The series mixes time-travel science fiction with a police procedural, set against a future in which corporations have eclipsed governments. It has been a strong performer for Showcase in Canada, where it launched to record ratings for the network.
