Syfy UK has picked up The Librarians and will premiere the fantasy-adventure series on December 8th, just a day after its US launch.
A spin-off of the Librarian television films that starred Noah Wyle, the show follows a team of gifted misfits recruited to the Library, a secret institution that safeguards the world’s most dangerous magical artifacts. Each week they head off on a new adventure to recover an object or see off a supernatural threat. Rebecca Romijn plays Colonel Eve Baird, the no-nonsense soldier assigned to protect them, alongside Christian Kane, Lindy Booth and John Kim as the new recruits, with John Larroquette as the Library’s caretaker.
Noah Wyle reprises his role as veteran Librarian Flynn Carsen in a recurring capacity. Playful and pacy, the series sits comfortably alongside the kind of light genre fare Syfy has built its schedule around.
