Sky1 has set a UK premiere date for Supergirl, with the new superhero drama arriving on Thursday October 29th at 8pm. The launch comes just days after the show’s debut on CBS in the United States.

Developed by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, the team behind Arrow and The Flash, the series stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El. Sent from the dying planet Krypton as Superman’s cousin, Kara has spent years hiding her abilities while building an ordinary life in National City, working as an assistant to media mogul Cat Grant. The opening episode sees her finally step into the open as a hero.

As Kara learns to use her powers, she works alongside a covert government agency, the DEO, that monitors alien threats on Earth. Calista Flockhart plays Cat Grant, with Mehcad Brooks as photographer James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Kara’s sister Alex, Jeremy Jordan as colleague Winn Schott and David Harewood as DEO boss Hank Henshaw.

The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions in association with DC Entertainment.
