Netflix Sets UK Premiere Date For V Wars

Netflix has set a UK premiere date for V Wars, with all ten episodes of the vampire drama arriving on Thursday December 5th.

The series is based on the comic book and anthology series created by Jonathan Maberry. It stars Ian Somerhalder, best known as Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, as Dr. Luther Swann, a scientist who finds himself at the centre of a deadly outbreak. Somerhalder also produces the series and directed one of its episodes, marking his first major television role since The Vampire Diaries ended its eight-season run in 2017.

The story follows a disease, released from melting Arctic ice by climate change, that begins turning people into vampires. As the infection spreads and society splits into opposing factions, Swann races to understand it while his best friend Michael Fayne, played by Adrian Holmes, rises to become the leader of the vampire side. Jacky Lai, Peter Outerbridge and Laura Vandervoort also feature.

In keeping with Netflix’s usual approach, the full first season is released in one go for binge viewing.
