Universal TV has set a UK premiere date for Coroner, the Canadian crime drama, with the series starting on Monday January 21st at 9pm.

Developed by Morwyn Brebner and based on M.R. Hall’s Jenny Cooper novels, the eight-part series stars Serinda Swan as Dr Jenny Cooper, a former emergency room doctor who takes up a new post as a coroner in Toronto after the sudden death of her husband. As she investigates the city’s suspicious and unexplained deaths, she is also wrestling with her own anxiety and a secret from her past that is slowly coming to the surface.

Roger Cross co-stars as homicide detective Donovan McAvoy, who works her cases alongside her. Universal TV is positioning the character-driven drama as one of the highlights of its early-year schedule.
