Sky One Sets Premiere Date For ‘The Queen And I’

Sky One has set a premiere date for The Queen & I, with the one off comedy to air on Christmas Eve, Monday December 24th, at 6pm.

Adapted from the novel by the late Sue Townsend, it imagines the downfall of the British monarchy after a republican party sweeps to power under a hugely popular new Prime Minister, Jack Barker.

With the monarchy dismantled, the Royal Family are evicted from Buckingham Palace and forced to adjust to ordinary life as citizens of a republic.

The ninety-minute film is produced by King Bert Productions, the company founded by David Walliams and Miranda Hart.

Walliams stars, alongside Samantha Bond, Amanda Abbington, Frances Barber and Johnny Vegas.
