Disney UK and Ireland has lined up a month-long channel takeover built around Mickey Mouse. From September 4th, Disney XD+1 will be rebranded as Mickey and Pals, running the themed programming around the clock for the month.

Carried on Sky and Virgin Media, the pop-up channel is aimed at the preschool audience and will draw on Disney Junior favourites. The line-up includes selected episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Sofia the First, The Lion Guard and Doc McStuffins, along with a run of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse specials.

It is the second takeover of Disney XD+1 in the past year, following a Marvel Spider-Man strand that ran through July. The Mickey event builds on the strong UK launch of Mickey and the Roadster Racers earlier in 2017, whose first episode topped its timeslot among children’s channels.
