Little Boy Blue, the latest four-part factual drama from Jeff Pope, will premiere on ITV on Monday April 24th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Based on a true story, Little Boy Blue explores the devastating impact of an innocent child’s murder amid a wave of gang violence. the four-part drama tells the story of the murder of 11-year-old Rhys Jones in Croxteth, Liverpool, in 2007. It explores Melanie’s and Steve’s ordeal, and tells the story of how Rhys’s murderer and associates were eventually brought to justice.
Jeff Pope, who was behind such factual dramas as Appropriate Adult and The Widower, penned the script for Little Boy Blue, which is being produced by ITV Studios. The cast includes Stephen Graham (This is England) as Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly, Sinead Keenan (Being Human) as Melanie Jones. and Brian F. O’Byrne (Prime Suspect) as Steve Jones. Kwadjo Dajan is the series producer, while Paul Whittington is the director.
