Sony Entertainment Television has acquired the UK rights to Younger, TV Land’s comedy from Darren Star, and has also picked up the sixth season of Hot in Cleveland.
Created by Sex and the City’s Darren Star, Younger stars Sutton Foster as Liza, a newly divorced fortysomething who, struggling to relaunch her career in publishing at her real age, passes herself off as a twentysomething to land an entry-level job. Hilary Duff co-stars as one of her much younger colleagues, with the comedy mining plenty of laughs from the age gap Liza is trying to hide.
Hot in Cleveland, meanwhile, arrives for its sixth and final season. TV Land’s long-running sitcom follows three Los Angeles women, played by Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, who end up putting down roots in Cleveland and sharing a house with their sharp-tongued elderly caretaker Elka, played by Betty White.
