Andrew Brooke Joins Starz's 'Da Vinci's Demons' As Series Regular – TVWise

Exclusive: I have just learned that British actor Andrew Brooke (PhoneShop) has been cast in Da Vinci’s Demons, a new drama series from David S. Goyer and BBC Worldwide which is being produced for Starz. Both Starz and BBC Worldwide are staying quiet about the exact nature of the role, but I’m being told that Brooke has joined Da Vinci’s Demons as a series regular and will be playing a character named ‘Grunwald.’
Created by Goyer, Da Vinci’s Demons is a historical fantasy seres which tells the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty five-year old da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it. The drama series stars Tom Riley (Monroe) as a Leonardo Da Vinci; Laura Haddock (Upstairs Downstairs) as Lucrezia Donati, the mistress of Lorenzo Medici and lover of Leonardo Da Vinci; and Lara Pulver (Spooks/MI5) as Clarice Orsini, the wife of Lorenzo Medici. Starz has ordered 8 episodes for the show’s first season, which is set to premiere in 2013.
