ITV Encore has set a UK premiere date for Gracepoint, the American remake of Broadchurch, with the drama starting on Wednesday April 1st.
A ten-part limited series made for the US network Fox, Gracepoint reworks the acclaimed British show for an American setting, moving the action to a small coastal town in Northern California. David Tennant, who starred in Broadchurch, returns as the lead detective, here named Emmett Carver, with Anna Gunn as his partner Ellie Miller, as the pair investigate the death of a young boy that tears the close-knit community apart.
While it closely follows the original for much of its run, Gracepoint takes its own path towards the end, with a different resolution to the central mystery. For viewers who know Broadchurch, that twist is part of the draw.
